Anubis was the god of death and the ancient Egyptians worshiped him as they were afraid that he will destroy their mummies. In fact, this idea was controlling their mind all time. So, Is Anubis a cat or dog?

The Jackals in ancient Egypt time were always watching funerals and following people to the tombs to eat the body of the deceased. The Jackal is very similar to the dog with a thin body and a small head. The Ancient Egyptians colored his body in black because he was related to sorrow and death. Sometimes they represented Anubis with a human body and a head of a jackal.
