The Hanging Church, the Salahdin Citadel, and the Mosque of Mohammed Ali are the majority of Cairo’s prominent tourist attractions; however, the pyramids lie in Giza, 20 minutes’ drive from the city’s center. However, if there is terrible traffic, the travel can take up to an hour and occasionally much longer. If visiting the pyramids is on your bucket list—and let’s face it, it probably is—stay at a hotels in Giza for one or two nights rather than in central Cairo to make the most of your time there.
In Giza, there are numerous hotel options. One of these choices is The Marriott Mena House, which first opened in 1887 and is located just beneath the Great Pyramid, where visitors may view the evening light display from their room balcony. The Grand Egyptian Museum will be a short drive from the hotel when it opens in the next couple of years.
The Great Sphinx, the Great Pyramid of Giza, as well as a large number of other pyramids and temples, are just a few of the ancient monuments that make Giza famous. It also has a complex of ancient Egyptian royal tombs.
