Egypt civilization was and still one of most mysterious in all history of mankind. One of the most important God ancient Egyptian believed in was Horus. So, what is Horus the god of? and was he important among Ancient Egyptian Gods?

In fact, to understand who was Horus in ancient Egyptian believes, we need to go back to the mythological story of his father Osiris and his Mother Goddess Isis. Osiris had a brother, his name was Seth, and Isis had a sister her name was Nephthys. Osiris and Isis fall in love, while Seth was in love with the same girl and he felt jealous of his brother. But, the wise girl Nephthys convinced Seth to marry her. So, both couples got married, but the only one was not happy was Seth. The jealous brother never stop thinking of his dream girl Isis, but how he could do that while his handsome, smart and brave brother was always there?! His greed drove him to the worst decision of mankind, he thought that Osiris disappearance will help!! Greed, jealousy and hate mixed this moment and with no thinking, he killed his brother! Not only killing him but cut his body in to pieces and scattered it allover Egypt.

Gathering Osiris Body

The bereaved wife Isis and the chocked sister Nephthys were looking every where to gather the pieces. After longtime the two sisters managed to find all pieces and with the Majic of Nephthys Osiris came back to life again but only for one night. The couple spend this night making love willing to bring a protector to this World, a son who will keep balance against devil. After that, Isis said goodbye to her beloved husband with a hope inside her. She ran away to hide in the Nile marshes and she promised to raise a soldier. The bad lover never stop looking for her with no hope, he rolled Egypt with hate and greed but he never thought that he had a nephew growing to take revenge.

As result, the rage that the child Horus was raised on, he became so strong. Thus, he was always waiting of the moment he is capable of drafting his bad uncle. Likewise, he was keeping his rage until this moment. Isis is also waiting planing and thinking, she was so delighted to see her little boy becoming a great warrior.

Horus Killing Seth and Making Balance

Near by a place called Edfu, the bad uncle Seth was sailing the Nile as a great king. He never thought that’s his last moment, while a strong young man showed up and called him for fight. The bad uncle though this is a joke “Don’t you know who I am?” Said Seth. The young man said “I know, a brother killer dressing as a king”! At this moment, Seth looked carefully at the young man and he was so mad. “I don’t know that Osiris had a son” said Seth. Flying in air, jumping as hero, Horus was facing his bad uncle. After that, he was chasing him from a place to another place until he killed him.

Happy Isis and King Horus

Horus became the king of Egypt, balance came back to the World, people loved this great king. Finally, the great mother felt happy and left life to join the King of underworld, the martyred Osiris.
