The Treasure of King Tut

Treasure hunters and thieves have slipped into the tombs and stolen practically all of the treasure throughout the thousands of years since the pharaohs were buried in their tombs. However, one tomb was uncovered in 1922 that was mostly intact and contained valuables. It was the tomb of Tutankhamun, the Pharaoh of Egypt. Find all about The Treasure of King Tut.

Who was Tutankhamun?

Tutankhamun was born around 1342 BC and ruled Ancient Egypt for around ten years before dying at the age of about 19.

He became a pharaoh after his father Akhenaten who was known to be a controversial king. Tutankhamun inherited the throne at the age of 9 and was guided by some powerful advisers who helped him to rule Egypt.

His reign as pharaoh was brief, but the discovery of the Boy King’s complete tomb in 1922 cemented his place in Egyptian history.

What was found in the tomb?

The tomb is located in Egypt’s Valley of the Kings, near Luxor. During the history of Ancient Egypt, this was where the Pharaohs and great nobles were buried for roughly 500 years.

Once an archeologist named Carter discovered halls brimming with treasure as he entered the tomb popularly known as King Tut treasure. Statues, gold jewelry, Tutankhamun’s mummy, model boats, chariots, canopic jars, seats, and paintings were among the items discovered.

To be precise, the treasures of King Tut include beetle mania, walking on gold, immortal body, divine protection, heavy heart, fierce protector, and so on.

King Tut Treasure was an incredible find, and one of the most significant in archaeology history. The tomb included more than 5,000 artifacts.

Was the tomb of Tutankhamun really cursed?

Many people believed King Tut’s tomb to be cursed when it was opened. The people believed that the curse would befall everyone who entered the tomb.

Their belief turned into reality when Lord Carnarvon died from a mosquito bite a year after entering it while discovering the treasures of King Tut

Apart from this, it was also reported that Howard Carter’s beloved pet canary was allegedly eaten by a snake on the day he visited the tomb. However, these were all rumors which soon appeared to be natural after some research.
