Alexander III who was also known as ‘Alexander the great’ was a legendary emperor of the ancient Greek kingdom known as Macedon.

Alexander was known for his amazing skills in battle and his strategies through which he conquered almost the entire world.
Alexander the Great battles
Alexander the Great battles between a long period of 15 years starting from 338 BCE to 323 BCE. The battles of Alexander started with his opponents as Thebans and Athenians. With the battle of Chaeronea which took place in Greece began the rise of Macedon in 338 BCE.
The second battle fought by Alexander was the start of his Balkan Campaign. The second war was the Battle of Mount Haemus, which he fought against Getae and Thracians.
The Balkan Campaign continued and Alexander fought a series of wars, the next one being a siege against the Illyrians in Albania. This event was known as the Siege of Pelium. Alexander was successful in the siege.
Next Alexander moved on to continue the Balkan Campaign and then defeated the Turbans in Greece successfully. The Battle of Thebes is still remembered although it occurred way back in the month of December of 335 BCE.
By this time, (334 BCE) Alexander had already become a very influential ruler all over Greece. Alexander’s army was huge and contributed to his numerous victories. Now, the very famous Persian Invasion of Alexander began.
The first battle fought by Alexander in Turkey was against the Achaemenid Empire known as the Battle of Granicus which was followed by two sieges in Turkey in which Alexander successfully invaded and defeated the Achaemenid Empire and Tyrians which were known as the Siege of Miletus and Halicarnassus.
The Persian campaign continued with the Siege of Tyre, Gaza, in Lebanon and Palestine, Battle of Gaugamela, Uxian Defile, Persian Gate Necropolis, Jaxartes, Sogdian Rock from 334-327 BCE.
After his continuous victories in the Persian Empire, Alexander the Great battled to conquer more land and rule over them. Now in 327 BCE, his very famous Indian Invasion had begun where he fought famous battles like Hydaspes, Aornos, Multan against Asvaka, Porus, and Malli whom he defeated all.
His legacy extended beyond just his wars and conquests. His reign was a turning point in European and Asian history.
