How to visit Egypt Pyramids?

A real experience from our traveler Stephanie  W. answering your question on how to visit the pyramids of Egypt.

“On my last visit to Egypt, the Great Pyramid was the most memorable out of all trips. It was located at Giza on the west bank of the Nile River north of Cairo in Egypt which has taken almost 20 minutes from Downtown. As far as I have researched it is the only wonder of the ancient world that has survived to the present day! Isnt this incredible?

As the tour guide has narrated for our family, It is part of a group of three pyramids–Khufu (Cheops), Khafra (Chephren), and Menkaura (Mycerimus)–that were as royal tombs for ancient Egyptian kings. The largest and most impressive is Khufu for my taste, known as “The Great Pyramid,” it was an engineering brilliance for my taste given the time they have been built it.

My Recommendation on how to visit the Pyramids of Egypt.

My personal recommendation will start with Taking a bottle of water with you if you decide to go. Charge your camera’s battery to 100% capacity. You’ll need it all to post your images to social media and register them. I went to the pyramids in the winter, when it was still sunny but not so hot that I got sunburned. I was told to wear a cap, light clothing, and my favorite, most comfortable pair of sneakers. As someone who loves to record her travels, I documented everything I learned from the tour guide who has been with me for the whole day. He is very educated and an expert in his field.

Khufu Great Pyramid visit

Amazingly! Khufu reigned as the tallest building in the world ages ago. In fact, it took modern man until the 19th century to build a taller structure. Amazingly, I see the building as nearly symmetrical Egyptian pyramids and I wondered how it was built! How this massive and huge structure was constructed without the aid of modern tools or surveying equipment. In other words, how did Egyptians build their pyramids? In order to move stones into one place, how many people did it take! Egyptologists believe that they utilized a log roller and sledge for this.

As a huge fan of mythology! It didn’t take me long to figure out that there was a tale behind this edifice. Although originally designed to represent the rays of Ra (the sun deity), the sloped walls have been filled in with limestone. I paid for a ticket to enter the pyramids to explore the interior of this structure.   The pyramids were designed with narrow passages and concealed rooms which I was told, it was an attempt to sabotage grave robbers, Despite the fact that modern archaeologists have discovered some spectacular artifacts among the ruins, they believe that the vast majority of what the pyramids once housed was robbed within 250 years of its construction.

The Great Sphinx visit

When I first saw the Great Sphinx, I was awestruck! According to the tour guide, the statue was built in honor of Pharaoh Khafre (about 2603-2578 B.C.). It has a lion’s body, which I believe represents power, and a king’s face, which I believe represents knowledge. It has a very mythical appearance! Khafre’s father, Pharaoh Khufu, is said to have erected the Great Pyramid, the oldest and greatest of the three pyramids at Giza, according to my tour guide said.

There are three 20m high rubble mounds on the east face of Khufu’s Great Pyramid. In Khufus time, these were called the “Queen Pyramid” or “Queen Tombs”. The inside of some of them are rather steamy, but you can enter some of them.

Pyramids entrance fees

Daily from 8am to 4pm, the pyramids are open. The parking lot at the entrance is free, however, parking near the pyramids charges 10 Egyptian pounds (less than $1). On-site amenities include a gift shop and bathrooms. In order to enter the site, adults must pay an admission fee of 200 Egyptian pounds ($17) and students must pay a price of 100 Egyptian pounds ($7). It is necessary to purchase separate tickets for the Great Pyramid, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure in order to enter the pyramids’ interiors.

In conclusion, when I went to the Grand Pyramids of Giza, I had a fine experience. When we arrived, we were accompanied by a very knowledgeable tour guide who had studied Egypt’s ancient history. Moreover, seeing the pyramids is a sight for sore eyes. It’s not until you’re at the base of a pyramid that you can truly appreciate the achievements of the ancient Egyptians. The stones are big, and the pyramids are massive in their size as well. As a result, it is one of the world’s seven wonders.”
